Bio:
Laura Brassie has a decade of experience in the mental health field. She has provided therapeutic care to all ages in a wide variety of settings, including hospitals, nonprofit agencies, schools, digital mental health companies, and private practice. Laura is primarily a trauma specialist, working with clients who have experience childhood trauma, sexual abuse, grief and loss, traumatic events, and religious trauma. She also loves working with folks who experience anxiety and OCD; and has been trained in evidence-based practices for anxiety such as Exposure and Response Prevention.
She believes that trauma, whether it seems big or small, is at the root of most mental health difficulties. Instead of behavior issues or symptoms, she looks at how and why those “symptoms” actually helped her clients survive in the past. She offers a safe, open, and honest environment for her clients to examine their values, build up their strengths, and find healthy ways to thrive.
Laura was born and raised in Indiana, and completed both her degrees there. She moved to Colorado in 2015 and currently lives in the Denver area with her partner, baby boy, and two Australian Shepherds. She loves nature days in the mountains, and can always find time to appreciate good tacos, margaritas, or a new coffee shop.
Laurie is not currently taking clients.
