Cameron Albee, M.S., ADDC

Cameron Albee (he/him) is a top-of-his-class graduate from Purdue University Global’s Master of Science in Psychology program, specializing in substance use and process addictions. He understands the complexities of addictive patterns from a whole-person, biopsychosocial approach - whether they are related to substance use or compulsive behaviors. He views each case with a humanistic and empathetic mindset to develop strategies that improve quality of life through recovery. Cameron also specializes in queer and marginalized identity, relationship issues, personality and mood disorders, and psychopathology. As an eclectic therapist, he borrows techniques from numerous modalities to “find what feels good” for each client.

Cameron also specializes in eating disorders and disordered eating. Having worked with clients on the spectrum of care from acute inpatient to outpatient, he feels a deep connection to those seeking to reclaim their lives through healing the patterns that can overtake us regarding food and body image, working with you to find peace and joy in food and self-acceptance again. His approach is always trauma-focused, examining historical experiences and relating them to current stressors and maladaptive behavior to implement the right interventions for everyone. As an academic and research-oriented clinician, he provides psychoeducational resources and pragmatic guidance, while also taking the time to get to know your story, what led you to this time and space in your life, and how you can work together to find the best possible outcome.

Sessions with Cameron mean you will never be alone—he will always have his Golden Retriever, Finn, nearby, with more-than-occasional appearances from his cat, Josie (both of whom retain HIPAA-compliant confidentiality agreements). He is a strong advocate for animal-assisted therapy and believes in incorporating the healing power of the animal-human connection into his sessions.

Cameron is pursuing multi-licensure and is supervised by Catherine Ocasio and Laura Brassie.

He is available for Telehealth sessions in both Colorado and Massachusetts and performs psychodiagnostic assessments for new clients during intake sessions.
